Ninth week
This week we tested our end posters with 26 people. After this we started making a draft of the final report that will be placed on the blog later. In this report we structured the different elements on the blog and added some things that we forgot to post or that made it more clear. Also the reactions of other students is placed in the report.
Puppets
Eighth Week
In this we played around with different ideas we had and the things we discussed in the conversation with Frans van Mourik the week before. We played around with the positioning of the different angles in which we could place the buildings. We also had to choose which buildings we would be placing in the two maps because placing all the buildings would be cramped. We have been experimenting with some puppets that could make the poster more fully styled. This week was all about playing around a bit and link this to literature and in the end making choices for the final poster.
Angles of Buildings
We played around with the angle of the buildings. At the end we chose to put all the buildings in the same angle to keep it more serene instead of turning the buildings as the route goes on. We also discovered that when the ground was also put in an angle the buildings pop out a lot more and the whole looks a lot better.
Seventh Week
This week there were not lectures. We had a conversation with a tutor of the course; Frans van Mourik. We talked about the concept that we presented the week before a little bit more. After taking this comments all very seriously we brainstormed about how to make this work in our poster. Our main goal was to create a better indicator for the direction that worked very subtile.
We had several ideas how to create this effect:
- Make a route line that indicates where to begin. But after the tutor meeting we heard that this
was not the idea of the assignment.
- make the route an outstanding colour
- Create a direction with puppets that are not very prominent on the poster but still leave a message
- Create a stronger 3-D effect by putting the background of the poster under an angle
- Create a direction with the direction of the houses.
- Put the houses on one poster on a different angle than the other poster.
- Make the buildings more outstanding but create more peace within the poster.
- change the shadows from small&dark to big&transparent, this did not work so we decided to not go on with this.
- Use the same buildings on each poster
